The Atlantic Council Global Energy Center’s Nuclear Energy Policy Initiative is pleased to invite you to watch its livestream of the US-Africa Nuclear Energy Summit on August 29 and August 30, hosted by the US Department of Energy, Kenyan Nuclear Power and Energy Agency, and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Kenya.

The Summit is the second annual Pan-African event organized by the United States dedicated to the future of nuclear power on the continent. This event provides a distinguished platform for US officials to engage on nuclear energy issues with public and private stakeholders across the continent, including ministers, policymakers, academia, and industry.

By emphasizing international cooperation, sharing innovative solutions, and shaping policies, the Summit aims to drive positive change and serve as a platform to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones to enhance cooperation in the nuclear energy sector. Throughout the livestreamed sessions, participants will focus on the US nuclear power industry’s 70-year history and its corresponding impact on surrounding local and regional economies, with a focus on technological innovation and key industrial benefits.

Please use the registration form to confirm your virtual attendance for the Opening Ceremony, Session I: Exploring the Symbiotic Relationship Between US Industry and Nuclear Energy, moderated by Jennifer Gordon, director of the Nuclear Energy Policy Initiative, and the Closing Ceremony.
