As Costa Rican President Alvarado recently stated at an Atlantic Council event, the current migration “fever” requires a more holistic, regional response. As the Biden administration advances in its Northern Triangle strategy to address both the short- and long-term forces driving people to leave their homes, the Atlantic Council spotlights the human journey of Central American migration to the United States. 

What specific steps can Central American countries take to address the conditions on the ground? What is the tipping point for citizens to make the decision to leave their home countries? What is the journey like? And, how can we effectively engage regional stakeholders in civil society and the private sector to build better futures for Central American countries?
