In a historic visit, US Vice President Kamala Harris visited Guatemala on June 7 to meet with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei as well as civil society members and entrepreneurs. In a joint press conference from Palacio Nacional, the two leaders focused on the continued building of the bilateral agenda, addressing the root causes of migration, and creating prosperity.
Join the Atlantic Council’s Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center on Tuesday, June 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT (2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Guatemala City), for a live post-visit readout with President of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei. The event, a little over a year after our first Leaders of the Americas with the Guatemalan President, will also focus on Guatemala’s economic recovery plan, initiatives to stem migration, corruption, and the broader US-Guatemala relationship.
This conversation is part of the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center’s Leaders of the Americas Series, which offers insight and analysis at the highest level to discuss the most pressing issues faced by the region.
This event will be held in SPANISH with simultaneous translation to English.
