Richard Pass is a 2024 Millennium fellow and co-founder of the nonprofit social enterprise Future Forces and the London Defence Tech Hackathon. His mission is to strengthen European democracies by getting more start-up tech into their defense ecosystems. Pass was previously a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company in the United Kingdom and Colombia, working across the public and private sectors. Pass is also a major in the British Army with five years of experience as a full-time tank officer based in Germany as part of NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force. Since 2019, he has been a reservist civil-military cooperation officer. Last year, he trained Ukrainian forces in Poland. He began his career as an economist in the UK government’s leadership development program, where he advised ministers at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and at 10 Downing Street. Pass has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in international public policy from University College London.
